Set-up for a website design.
When starting your website design you should set up your artboard or canvas to the following specifications; between 2,000px and 1,400px wide. The optimum height varies depending on your content, but anywhere at or above 768px is fine.
Within this artboard or canvas, set up guides or a work area that is between 960px and 1024px wide. This way you will get an idea of how your work will look on a tablet or low-res computer or laptop, and also how it will appear at higher resolutions.
